SPF 16 Ignites Downtown Arts & Culture in St. Petersburg

The downtown center of St. Petersburg has always been synonymous with world-class performance and visual arts. Represented by outstanding museums, scores of independent galleries, and a successful, close-knit community of working artists, St. Petersburg's thriving arts and culture scene reaches far beyond the state of Florida. With such so much talent, it is only right that they are showcased with a month-long festival... enter SPF 16.

The second annual SPF brings dozens of wide-ranging arts events, covering a spectrum of creations and experiences, showcasing a diverse array of local and national artists, organizations, and St. Petersburg style.

An absolute must-see at this year's SPF will be Kolter Urban's de facto contribution to the festival, ONE St. Petersburg. Soaring to new heights in the heart of downtown, ONE St. Petersburg introduces a bold new vision for contemporary urban living. The 41-story high-rise will give the city a true iconic landmark of architecture and a stunning display of contemporary design. Towering above the city's historic skyline, ONE St. Petersburg will absolutely have the crowds at this year's festival talking for month to come.

From renowned street art to surprise pop-up performances, SPF 16 will also feature and is not nearly limited to: galleries, music, robots, fashion, culinary, photography, ballet, comedy, glassblowing, art-in-business, and many more family friendly events, adult friendly events, and free activities.

Several events are simultaneous or ongoing and several events are mobile, underlining St. Petersburg's mix of historic and modern backdrops and venues, across the City's five unique arts districts, all comprising the “Open-Air Museum” that is St. Petersburg. Music events range from jazz to opera, orchestras to tributes, encompassing copious notable musicians.

Located just a few blocks from ONE St. Petersburg will be the Central Avenue Solstice. St. Petersburg's coast-to-coast Central Avenue, with several themed districts and attractions, will hold this eight-mile-long street festival along the only road in St. Petersburg that hosts both sunrise and sunset (all-day events begin at dawn, with the finale at dusk).
