How to Refill Canon Ink for Inkjet Printers

If you happen to use your printer more than you ever used it in the past, you will probably notice something almost immediately: you are going to run out of canon ink for inkjet printers. This is simply a byproduct of using your printer with more regularity, especially if you are printing out either graphics in color or some of your best digital photographs. Although the process of buying the appropriate kind of ink for your printer is relatively easy, the main issue people face when they need more ink supplies is related to the cost. In fact, ink is one of the most expensive substances for sale on the market right now.
However, cutting costs does not necessarily correlate to cutting down on the amount of printing that you are able to do with your printer. You should not feel disheartened on account of the fact that your budget constraints might make it seemingly impossible to print as much as you would like. Rather, the simplest thing to do in order to solve your problems in this instance is to replace the ink manually rather than going out to buy new ink cartridges that come with all the accoutrements that might not be necessary at this point in time.
Remember, when you are replacing toners for printers, the process is going to differ somewhat due to the fact that you are using a different type of printer. Laser printers function differently than inkjet printers; therefore, you are not really using ink at all when printing with laser, but are using a powdery substance instead to form the color saturation and gradients.
The first step to replacing any ink, such as hp officejet pro 8500 ink, is to purchase an ink refill kit at a local office supply or printing supply store. Most of the major chain stores offer this type of kit. Typically, it costs approximately half of what an average ink cartridge would cost. So, you will immediately be able to note the savings before you even walk out of the store with your new purchase. You also can find the kits online if you either do not live by a printing supply store or you think you might be able to find a better deal on the Internet.
Next, once you get home, it is time for you to gather your kit, some paper towels and some Scotch tape in one area on a large, flat surface such as a table or desk. Do not worry too much about the mess; if you are careful, the process should not cause any harm to the table or desk on which you have chosen to go through this process.
Then, you will want to remove the cartridge from your printer. This should not be a difficult process at all, especially if you have the original manual to reference during this time. In order to reduce the amount of mess that is created throughout this process, you also might want to invest in some plastic gloves to put on just so that you are not left scrubbing your hands trying to remove ink once the process has come to an end.
Once the cartridge is out of your printer, the process is a streamlined endeavor. You simply have to find the fill holes on the top of the cartridge and then use a sharp pencil to pierce these. Make sure to follow the instructions on which color goes in which hole. Then, you should put the long needle of the refill bottle all the way into the correct hole of the cartridge, making sure not to push air into the cartridge during this time. Gradually add your ink.
After the ink is all the way into the cartridge, you should cover the hole with a small piece of clear tape. At the same time, you should watch to make sure that you have not cross-contaminated your colors.
When the filling process is complete, you can put the cartridges back into your printer; however, you should also make sure that you are not inserting a cartridge that has any leakage whatsoever. This could compromise the quality of your prints, and it could also lead to discoloration if the colors have blended together during your refill process. Try to print something out as soon as possible just so that you can see whether or not the refill process was a success, and also to allow the ink to start flowing in a normal manner. Once you see a couple documents print out, you should feel confident that the manual refill was a success.
